SupplyOne Acquires Alpak Container

3/2/2009

SupplyOne, Inc. has acquired Alpak Container Corporation based in Chesapeake, VA and its operations in Suffolk, VA, operating as Pak-Al.

Alpak Corporation, founded by Gary Pirko in 1983, is a recognized leader in corrugated packaging and design in Virginia and the entire Southeast. In 1989, Gary Pirko and Wayne Appleton founded Pak-Al, and as a result expanded its capabilities to include contract packaging and related assembly operations. Today, both companies are accomplished leaders and provide an expansive array of packaging solutions to an expanding base of customers in the manufacturing and service industries.

Joining forces with SupplyOne in Suffolk, VA, Alpak Container and Pak-Al will offer its customers the broadest range of packaging products and services available today. In addition to traditional corrugated packaging and state-of-the-art design capabilities, our combined customer base will have full access to 4-color graphics, displays, and label laminating. SupplyOne Suffolk is also known for its comprehensive offering of packaging supplies and equipment, plastic thermoformed products, pressure sensitive labels, fulfillment, and its Packaging Management Program.

Gary Pirko, President of Alpak Container commented, “This is an exciting time for our customers and employees. Never before have we been able to offer our customers, a ‘one-stop’ packaging solution that simplifies their procurement function and improves operating efficiencies at the same time. We can’t wait to share our enthusiasm and excitement with our customers.”

William T. Leith, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SupplyOne said, “We are pleased to welcome the Alpak Container and Pak-Al organizations into our expanding network in Virginia and Eastern North Carolina. Both companies are built on a strong foundation of customer relationships and service excellence. It is a perfect fit and ideal corrugated manufacturing complement to our geography, and we look forward to working closely with our new customers and colleagues.”

This merger continues SupplyOne’s growth strategy of acquiring profitable companies who are recognized leaders in their local market areas with excellent customer relationships. We look forward to the growth prospects this new entity provides to our customers, employees and suppliers. We pledge to our customers that they will continue to receive the same high standards of quality and service they have received in the past, as we continue our commitment to be the Leader in Packaging Solutions.
